![]() The EnduraClad Plus finish takes our EnduraClad finish a step further featuring the superior weatherability of full-strength 70% Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 PVDF resin-based protection. Please note that only 70% PVDF resin provides ultimate weatherability protection and longer-lasting resistance to fading and chalking. Make sure that your specifications call for 70% Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 resin not 50% PVDF resinto ensure a significant increase in performance over our tough EnduraClad finish. Only 70% Kynar 500 finishes exceed the AAMA 2605 standards for exceptional weatherability. |
Standard, Windowscaping®, and special custom colors are available. Consult manufacturers architectural representative and edit accordingly. Standard finish system is Pella EnduraClad baked-on polyester enamel. Pella EnduraClad Plus fluorocarbon-based (Kynar 500*) finish system also available. *Kynar and Kynar 500 are registered trademarks of Elf-Atochem North America, Inc. A Pella EnduraClad Exterior Finish System: Exterior extruded aluminum surfaces shall be finished with the following multi-stage system: 1. Clean and etch aluminum surface of oxides. 2. Pretreat with chrome phosphate conversion coating. 3. Pretreat with chromic acid sealer/rinse. 4. Prime with a baked-on modified polyester primer. 5. Top coat with baked-on polyester enamel. Color shall be [____]. --or-- A Pella EnduraClad Plus Exterior Finish System: Exterior aluminum surfaces shall be finished with the following multi-stage system: 1. Clean and etch aluminum surface of oxides. 2. Pretreat with chrome phosphate conversion coating. 3. Pretreat with chromic acid sealer/rinse. 4. Prime with a baked-on acrylic primer. 5. Top coat with baked-on fluorocarbon-based (Kynar 500) thermoplastic enamel. Color shall be [____]. B Pella EnduraClad exterior aluminum finishes shall meet or exceed the following performance requirements of AAMA 2604.2: 6. Dry Film Hardness: Eagle Turquoise Pencil, F minimum. 7. Film Adhesion: 1/16 crosshatch, dry, wet, boiling water. 8. Impact resistance: 1/10 distortion, no film removal. 9. Abrasion resistance: Falling sand coefficient value of 20 minimum. 10. Chemical resistance: 10% Muriatic acid, 15 minutes. Mortar pat test, 24 hours. 11. Detergent resistance: 3% at 100 degrees, 72 hours. 12. Corrosion resistance: Humidity, 3000 hours. Salt spray exceeds 3000 hours. --or-- B Pella EnduraClad Plus exterior aluminum finishes shall meet or exceed all the requirements of AAMA 2605.2. Pella EnduraClad and EnduraClad Plus finish systems are also tested to the following ASTM test methods. Consult manufacturer for performance level for ASTM G 85 and ASTM B 368. C Pella [EnduraClad] [EnduraClad Plus] exterior aluminum finishes shall meet or exceed the following ASTM performance requirements: 1. ASTM B 368 Copper-Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray (Fog) Testing (CASS Test). 2. ASTM D 1149 (modified) Ozone Deterioration: 5ppm ozone, 160 degree F, 60% relative humidity, 100 hours exposure, little or no loss of cure. 3. ASTM D 2803 Filiform Corrosion Resistance of Organic Coatings on Metal: No corrosion. 4. ASTM D 4060 Abrasion Resistance, Taber Abrasion: 500# gm weight, CS-10 wheel, 500 cycles, less than 25# gm weight loss. 5. ASTM G 85 Cyclic Acidified Salt Fog Test, Appendix A-2. Window units are normally furnished with interior unfinished, ready for site finishing. Factory-applied finish is available at extra cost. Edit accordingly. D Interior finish: [Unfinished, ready for site finishing.] [Factory-primed with one coat acrylic latex.] [Factory-finished with one prime coat and two top coats of white acrylic latex.] |
